Mise En Scene: Use of extra's in loft scene

Mise En Scene: Use of extra's in loft scene

Once we decided on using the loft as our location to shoot our final scene, we wanted to take extra caution with mise en scene and the extra's in it. For our last scene, we have decided to use extras as dead bodies to show the audience that this is not the first time that the protagonist has done something to this scale.

In order to achieve a realistic looking mise en scene in the loft, we have decided to purchase some empty sandbags (pictured below) that our extras will be inside of. Furthermore, we have also chosen to purchase some chains to emphasise on struggle and isolation of the protagonists many victims .

In conjunction with the sandbags and chains, we have also been able to make sure that we could incorporate some gore through the use of theatrical blood that we have splattered around the loft, hinting at the capability of the protagonist.

Costume
In terms of costume for the dead bodies we have decided to choose dark clothing. Such as black trousers and a top, this will allow us to make dirt show up on the clothing items to a point that the clothing items look extremely worn and old. Therefore giving off the idea that the protagonist has held them there for a whole. As well, it also shows signs of struggle
